 El 4 de mayo entrará en vigencia el plazo establecido por el Ministerio de Transporte para que los propietarios de vehículos diligencien el formulario de autodeclaración del Registro Único Nacional del Tránsito, RUNT. 

Este requisito es de obligatorio cumplimiento para todos los propietarios de vehículos, incluidas las motocicletas, pues será exigido en la realización de trámites de tránsito y transporte en todo el país. Adicionalmente se contempla una multa de dos salarios mínimos legales mensuales vigentes para quienes no efectúen la autodeclaración.

Este formato puede adquirirse en los organismos de tránsito o a través de la página de internet. en los siguientes plazos, de acuerdo con el último dígito de la placa:

Para las motocicletas cuya placa termina en letra, se tomará el último número de la misma.
